H.E.R. | History, Empowerment, Resilience 2025 exhibition invites artists of all backgrounds and identities to celebrate the influence of women in our lives and communities. This exhibition honors the diverse roles women embody—from daughters and friends to mentors, leaders, and visionaries. Artists are encouraged to reflect on and explore the ways in which women shape our experiences, traditions, and futures. Through painting, sculpture, photography, and more, we welcome works that pay tribute to the legacy of women’s strength, resilience, and creativity. Whether you’re inspired by personal relationships, historical figures, or abstract ideas of womanhood, this exhibition is a space to share and celebrate the profound impact of women across generations.

Indiana Arts Commission accepting applications for two grant programs
(INDIANAPOLIS) The Indiana Arts Commission (IAC) and its Regional Arts Partners announced today the opening of applications for two grant programs: Fiscal Year 2026 Arts Project Support and Fiscal Years 2026-2027 Arts Organization Support.
“Arts and creativity are an essential component of the vibrancy, connectedness, and economic development of Indiana’s communities,” said Miah Michaelsen, IAC Executive Director. “We are pleased to offer these two grant programs, which create opportunities for Hoosiers to strengthen the fabric of their communities and improve quality of life for all.”
About the Arts Project Support Program
Arts Project Support grants provide nonprofit organizations and public entities with funding to support a specific arts activity, such as a one-time event, a single production, an exhibition, an educational workshop, or a series of related arts activities such as art classes or training sessions.
The goal of the Arts Project Support grant program is to provide Indiana’s people and communities with access to arts experiences.
In Fiscal Year 2026, this competitive program will be offered twice. The spring application cycle, for projects taking place between 7/1/2025-6/30/26, is open now and will close on March 4, 2025. The fall application cycle, for projects taking place between 1/1/2026-12/31/26, will open on July 8, 2025, and will close on September 9, 2025. Applicants are only eligible to receive one Arts Project Support grant in FY2026.
Learn more about Arts Project Support and access the guidelines.
About the Arts Organization Support Program
Arts Organization Support grants provide stable and consistent funding to arts organizations across varied geographies and budget sizes. This competitive program is open every odd calendar year, and applicants funded in the program will be funded for two fiscal years (FY2026 and FY2027).
The goal of the Arts Organization Support program is to provide an opportunity for a wide range of the state’s arts organizations to make high-quality artistic experiences available to both residents and visitors through equitably distributed and meaningful grant awards.
Applications for Arts Organization Support are due March 4, 2025, at 11:59 p.m. eastern time through the IAC's online grant system. Learn more and access the guidelines.
Request for Qualifications

Read the full Request for Qualifications and submit a response to the RFQ. The deadline to respond to the RFQ is January 10, 2025.

CALL FOR MURAL ARTISTS: ATTENTION! DEADLINE TO SUBMIT EXTENDED TO JANUARY 30!!
Attention Artists!
Deadline Extended!!!
The Sheldon Swope Art Museum, in partnership with the Indiana Destination Development Corporation (IDDC), invites Wabash Valley muralists to apply to develop a location-specific mural.
Murals have always been powerful tools to educate and inform community members over a wide variety of topics including commemorating local history, commentary on social issues, and beautification of private and public spaces. The Swope would like to invite artists to take inspiration from Gilbert Wilson’s works in our collection and throughout Terre Haute; linking Wilson’s work to our STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, ART, and Math) program, which highlights the connections between science and art as a part of the vision.
You can see some of these works at Woodrow Wilson Middle School or the Bayh College of Education at Indiana State University. You are also welcome to visit the Swope to see what we have exhibited in the museum.
The site-specific mural will be located initially on the Ohio Street south wall of the Swope during our renovation and then moved to the exterior North facing wall of the museum block in the mural alley. The mural will be painted on four 4’ x 8’ primed metal panels (supplied) which will be installed on site upon completion. Dimensions of the completed mural will be approximately 8’ high by 16’ wide. The mural should be “Instagrammable” and contain the logo of both the IDDC and the Swope.
To be considered, applicants must include the following:
-
Submit online: 2-5 images of past works (preferably mural work), including dimensions, medium and locations of each mural
-
Artist statement/biography
-
Website, and/or social media
-
Preliminary design for the proposed mural
Send application materials to: gopalan@swope.org
Award: $7500.00

George, a professor at a small college, and his wife, Martha, have just returned home, drunk from a Saturday night party. Martha announces, amidst general profanity, that she has invited a young couple—an opportunistic new professor at the college and his shatteringly naïve new bride—to stop by for a nightcap. When they arrive, the charade begins. The drinks flow and suddenly inhibitions melt. It becomes clear that Martha is determined to seduce the young professor, and George couldn’t care less. But underneath the edgy banter, which is crossfired between both couples, lurks an undercurrent of tragedy and despair. George and Martha’s inhuman bitterness toward one another is provoked by the enormous personal sadness that they have pledged to keep to themselves: a secret that has seemingly been the foundation for their relationship. In the end, the mystery in which the distressed George and Martha have taken refuge is exposed, once and for all revealing the degrading mess they have made of their lives. cruel curiosity of the damned. Here the soul is shorn of secrecy, and even the blackest deeds are mercilessly exposed to the fierce light of Hell. It is an eternal torment.
