ECLIPSE POSTER DESIGN COMPETITION

Total Eclipse of the Haute 2024 | Poster Design Contest
Open for Submissions | Deadline to enter: December 13, 2023

Arts Illiana and the Swope Art Museum, in celebration of the 2024 Total Eclipse of the Haute, announce a poster design contest. Wabash Valley graphic artists are invited to submit their poster designs that will document and commemorate the April 8, 2024 total solar eclipse that will be visible in its totality in our community.  The poster will serve as the official eclipse poster to promote this memorable day in our history. The winning design and designer will be honored during the festivities and media coverage that will surround this once-in-a-lifetime event. 

 

Entries will be accepted beginning November 15, 2023 through December 13, 2023. Entries will be juried by a panel of five members and the winning design will be announced before the end of 2023.

Submission Guidelines:

  1. Participants must submit their entries by 5:00 PM, December 13, 2023. 

  2. Each participant is allowed a maximum of 1 entry. 

  3. Submissions should be sent to lawson@swope.org with the subject line "Terre Haute Eclipse Poster Contest Entry." Please include your name, contact information, and any additional notes you'd like to share about your design in the body of the email with your design file attached. 

  4. Alternatively, participants may use WeTransfer to submit their design files. Please send the WeTransfer link to lawson@swope.org with the subject line "Terre Haute Eclipse Poster Contest Entry" 

  5. Questions may be directed to lawson@swope.org or infor@artsilliana.org.

Design Size and Format:

  • Design the poster in a standard format suitable for printing 18x24 inches. 

  • Submit the final design in a high-resolution digital format, files must be JPEG or PNG.

The following are REQUIREMENTS to include in your poster design:

  • Terre Haute Eclipse Official Logo & Style Guide (Download HERE)

  • The full date of the eclipse: April 8, 2024

  • The words “Terre Haute, Indiana”

 

Considerations for your poster design:

  • Reflect the Terre Haute Community

  • Consider the solar eclipse experience: “Mind, Body, Spirit” “Eclipse happens to…around…within.”
